A boy spent one-third of his money in one shop and one-fourth of the remainder in the second shop and one-half of what was still remainder in a third shop. What fraction of his original money was left?

Let the boy has $M originally

The fraction of money was left
= M * (1 - 1/3) * (1 - 1/4) * (1 - 1/2)
= M * 2/3 * 3/4 * 1/2
= M/4

Answer: 1/4 of the original money was left.
