Ocean Park

Ocean Park Hong Kong (Traditional Chinese: 海洋公園; pinyin: Hǎiyáng Gōngyuán) is a theme park in the Southern District of Hong Kong Island. The marine-themed amusement park covers the area of Wong Chuk Hang and Nam Long Shan, and is Hong Kong's very own theme park.

The park has 4.2 million visitors annually in recent years. It has an area of 870,000 square metres. The different parts of the park are connected by cable car, as well as the world's second longest outdoor escalator. The theme park currently has over 40 rides and attractions.

Headlands Rides

* The Dragon - A steel roller coaster with a maximum speed of 77 km/h with 842 metres of track. The ride lasts approximately 2.5 minutes.

* The Abyss Turbo Drop - raises the visitors up and drops them straight down in free fall in 5 seconds.

* Ocean Park Escalator - At 224 m (745ft), it is the second longest in the world. It is outdoors, but weatherproof.

* Giant Panda Habitat - Home to two pandas, Jia Jia (female) and An An (male).

* Dinosaurs - Now and Then - Features animatronic and still model dinosaurs. Two of the dinosaurs represented, the dilophosaurus and the velociraptor, are inaccurate and based on the way the dinosaurs appear in Jurassic Park. The dilophosaurus is shown with a neck frill. The velociraptor is much taller than its actual size.

Hong Kong Disneyland

Hong Kong Disneyland is the first theme park inside the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, which is owned and managed by the Hong Kong International Theme Parks, an incorporated company jointly owned by The Walt Disney Company and the Government of Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Disneyland, the fifth and most recent Magic Kingdom style park in the world, is located on reclaimed land in Penny's Bay, Lantau Island. After years of negotiations and construction, the park finally opened to visitors on September 12, 2005. Currently, the park is able to handle a maximum of 32000 visitors daily.

Attractions of Hong Kong Disneyland

The park consists of four themed lands similar to those found in the other Disneyland parks around the world. They are Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Adventureland in Hong Kong Disneyland is the biggest one among all the Disneyland parks.

Although the park is the smallest Disneyland in the world, the park has announced the planned opening of two new attractions in the summer of 2007. In addition, the classic Disney attraction, "It';s a Small World," will open in early 2008. The park will continue to expand by adding more new attractions in the future. After completing the expansion, the park will be able to handle 10 million visitors annually.

The park currently features four themed lands similar to those at other Disneyland parks: Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. The park is missing a fifth classic land; Frontierland is not present at the park, as Disney chose not to build a park big enough to contain it.

i strongly suggest you prefer to visit Ocen Park. b/c i went to both before in Hong Kong. i find out Ocean Park is more interesting than Disneyland. and hing kong disneyland is worse than others in U.S.
