I suggeat you to attend the beginner's course held by some wellknown photography group, like 香港卅五攝影研究會, 香港攝影學會 or 香港中華攝影學會 etc.....

I am exactly the same as you. I started photography 4 years ago and bought many books for learning but with not much significant improvement....So I registered 卅五攝影研究會, attend the beginner's course and ask the 高手to comment you pictures. You will gain benefits and improve quickly.

Other than taking the course, I have an advice for you...
Try to look at the 名家作品 and understand why and how did they shoot that picture. And understand what they wants to say from the pictures. Also pay attention to the composition, arrangement and etc....you'll be inspired.
