metal X forms an oxide. 27.53 g of theis oxide contains 24.96 g of X. What is the mole ratio of X to oxygen in the oxide?? How to calculate?

remember, once you need to compare the number of the particles, you must calculate the mole of that substance and weight is not fair to compare.

27.53g is the whole compound and so 2.57g is oxygen since 24.96g is X.
the mole of oxygen = 0.16 mole.

Now you have to get the atomic mass of Metal X.
I think there is some information that is missing in the question .
