"people"有冇s?

在英語中, 無論people還是person, 都可以有"s"或者冇"s", 只是解釋意義會不同.
一般來說, people與person被解作"人", people是複數名詞, person是單一名詞.
People = 人們,種族,家族 (There are many people = 那兒有很多人.)
The people = 人民,百姓 (a politician who is loved by the people = 一位受百姓愛戴的政治家)
The peoples = 種族 (the peoples of Asia = 亞洲各民族)
Person = 人,傢伙,人稱 (There is a person = 那兒有個人.)
Persons = (用於正式/公務時或非特指某一個人時用) (He was murdered by a person or Persons unknown. = 仍他被某個或某些不明人謀殺了.)

*小發現*: people 都可以是動詞(verb)來的啊!!! (a thickly peopled district)

至於"home",也可作複數形式,而且這字可作多個解釋啊: 1.家庭, 2.機構或處所(eg療養院), 3.動物棲息地, ...1. Peter leaves his home. / Peter and Mary leave their homes respectively.2. There is a nursing home. / There are many nursing homes.3. The home of tiger and the elephant is jungle.

people 是 person 最通用的複數形式 ,
persons 較文 , " 主要用於法律用語 " , 不常看到 ,

people 可解作 : 民族 , 部落 , 種族 , 其複數形式是 " peoples "

e.g.

The Ancient Egyptians were a fasinating people .
古埃及人是個令人神往的民族 ,

the French-speaking peoples of the world
世界上說法語的民族

home 是有複數形式 , 如 :
The nurse visits patients in their homes .
護士對病人進行家訪 ,

people 是沒有s的,因為它本身已代表了1個以上,如果要表達一個人,就是person,person也是不可以加s的,因為它是代表1個,如果要代表1個以上,就要用people了!
people的例子:
There are so many people in the shop.
person的例子:
There is a person standing in the shop.
