There are many self-learning books in learning drums for beginners. You can go to any musical bookshops to search for yourself. Besides, many websites about "drums" can reveal to you some good books for beginners. Please be reminded to buy the books with CD or DVD so that you can listen and practice for your lessons.

In my opinion, self-learning is not as good as attending lectures with a good drummer. It is due to the fact that you may not get the knack for the technique. A good drum instructor with enthusiasm to share his/her knowledge can show you how to deal with the knack which you may not understand by means of the books. His/her knack can make you take up drum technique easily and match with the music friendly.

If you want to find a drum instructor, you are reminded to pay attention whether the drummer is willing to share his knowledge with you. I have been a student of a top one drummer in Hong Kong. His drum technique is outstanding. However, he does not point out your mistakes and teach me the technique without knack. He spends 1 or 2 lessons for each song. Therefore, I learn many songs within a very short period but I cannot play drums with them correctly. Moreover, he is unwilling to give me the names of his books for support. Under the circumstances, I cannot match with the music. I waste my time and money. I am discouraged and lose my hope. Finally, I decide to quit his training.

在鼓譜都有不同位置,不同打法有另一些符號~~
