expose the iron to a room with high relative humidity
---water is an important factor for rusting
change the shape of the iron through mechanical modification(eg shaping into nails)
---making some places become weaken and the layer of iron atoms are not in right place --> increase the chance of contacting with positively charged ion --> more electrons will be taken away, forming more iron ions.
