手提電話(URGENT)

Tri-band is suitable in San Fran but please check if your current mobile phone or the one you want to bring there is tri-band. Actually, If you just want to make some long distance call, I suggest you use Global Calling Call which is provided by PCCW. Once you got it, you can use land-line or phone booth to make long distance call that is much cheaper than you use roaming service. Of course you need to check the toll free number with PCCW before you go to SF. But if you just want to use SF SIM card to communicate with your friend in US, you should buy a SIM Card then. Please bear in mind, there's not easy to buy SIM card like HK. By the way, if you stay in your friend's place, you should use their land-line to make IDD calls because they got very cheap rate.

If your phone have GSM850 you also can use "CINGULAR"

other phone company use CDMA or PCS, which you can't use your HK phone.

if you have friends in US, you may ask them have extra card! Some people (like me have extra), I mail to HK for my sister, she can have her number can tell her friends and use in airport when she arrive.

是三頻,當地好難找到電訊公司,多數在唐人開的超市可以買一張當地電話卡,但要連電話號碼一齊買先打得,不是好多地方都有得買,要找好耐才買到,要差不多US$50一張,(內含通話時間好短),如電話不太多的話不化算.用萬遊算啦,可以收到電話時吾聽,再用當地電話打返去重化算.
