Yes I also agree that in the outlet, you can go to stores like Discount Cosmetics Company and usually they are 30-40% cheaper than retail prices in the malls or department stores.

Brands they will carry are: Clinque, Estee lauder, Prescriptive, Bobbi Brown, Lancome, Elizabeth Arden. Pay atttention to sets as they are the best deal! If you are interested in getting fragrances, they have designer fragrances too.

But personally, my mother likes the toner from Clinque and if you get the sets, it's cheaper that way. For me, I like to use the brand Kiehl's and it's really good for my combination skin. I live in Boston and the winter here is very harsh but their facial cream is hudrating but yet not oily for my combination skin. I think they also have a store in HK but it's cheaper here in the US, plus the sales people here are very nice and they will give you a lot of samples of different products so you can take advantage of this!

In outlets, I think you should pay attention to Coach. I have been to one huge outlet halfway from Las Vegas to LA and their Coach factory outlet store have a huge selection. If you want to buy some coach presents, wrist pouches are good selction (about 38-58USD for one.... and it's not fake!!!) or keychain la.

Other brands that are cheaper in HK, nike, polo, ralph lauren polo, tommy hilfiger, nautica (their fleece is ok ga, only 19.99 in outlets, and have a lot of colors to choose from), cheaper selections are like GAP or banana republic. Oh The North face is haveing a sale until the 11th this month so if you here before then, maybe you can get one la, coz some of the down jackets are 25-40% off ga!!!)

Things you cant find in HK: Abercrombie and Fitch. almost the ones you see are fake and in here you can buy it from the stores in malls easily.

Ok, about cheaper souvenirs, yes I agree that keychain are good, but maybe you can consider some shotglasses (mini mugs 小酒杯) and you can get them in almost everywhere, they are small and easy to carry.

Another thing is dried fruits I think they make a wonderful gift (花旗參花包 is good but not everyone likes them I think)

In LA if you are going to Disney or universal studios, you can get some unique souvenirs from them (but sadly a lot is made in China) but try to choose something more special la~
