I was a Leeds graduate back in 2000. The uni itself is good, a self-contained campus like PolyU in Hong Kong. Its reputation is good academically (IMPORTANT: Uni of Leeds is NOT the same as Leeds Metropolitan University, don't get confused). There are quite a lot of student accomodations so finding a good place to live shouldnt be a big problem. You may also find a lot of Singaporeans there cos Leeds have good connections with Singapore.
Hmm... yeah i agree that the city can be a bit 麻麻地, because it is a large city with many immigrants. If you like clubbing & pubbing then Leeds has got a lot of places to get drunk (not for me though...). As for discrimination, if you havent done anything wrong then that seldom happens. The most important thing is to behave yourself and try to mix with the local pple and culture - the Brits have good things that are worth leaning from, especially their way to treat people with politeness.
What are you going to study?
Hope this helps :)
