A pre-paid credit card can be used at just about any sotre.

A gift card usually, can only be used at the store you bought it at.

Pre-paid credit cards can be used in any store that accept credit cards. They are like credit card essentially only with a limit of spending. Gift cards are the ones you purchase from particular stores which can only be used in the same store you bought them from.

pretty much. they're both just cards with a loaded $ value. Only diff is, the credit card canbe re-loaded and re-used.

No, not technically. A prepaid credit card is when you deposit money with a lender and they give you a credit card for the amount you have deposited. Many people go this route when they are trying to build credit. A gift card is when you buy the amount of credit on the card and give it to someone else. It is only good at one business. A prepaid credit card is good anywhere that particular logo is accepted.
