Financial Planner 前景好嗎? 假設我是 degree holder 畢業於工程學而不是金融, what salary can I reach up to in this field if I further pursuit for the required certification such as CFP? And what is the major income source? They all just come from comission? Now I am still studying my degree, is it a good idea to try the partime now (I still got around one and half to to graduate)? Will there be any trap or is it extremely hard to find client?
Please tell me more! Chinese is also ok too for the explanation!

Hi there,
It's actually quite a difficult question to answer 'cos everything's relative, isn't it? I can only say that financial planning is getting more and more important in everybody's life. Due to aging population, more awareness on financial planning after the launch of MPF and many reasons.
Companies like ours offer degree programmes for fresh graduates and that includes a basic salary provided that the person meets validation quota. I've just finished studying CFP and find it very useful in our everyday life. However, at this point of time, I think it should be a better idea for you to get a feel of what it's like to be a financial planner before you take that course because it's quite advance actually.
Being a financial planner is not an easy task but it's not difficult if you work hard and is active in finding and closing deals. Wouldn't say it's extremely hard to find client 'cos clients are every where, if you reach out for them with sincerity, they are yours. But meeting different people from all walks of life can certainly gain you insight and perspective and help a lot in personal development.

Financial planning do have a bright future. You can find a lot of recurtment from various kind of company, banks, insurance companies & broker firms.

Working as a financial planner is same as running your own business. The harder you work, the more you earn. I cannot say that how much money you can earn as it's a commission basis job. there is a financial planner in my company whose salary is not less than 500K per annum starting from the sixth month (after he has picked up the skills). He is also holding a degree of IT.

My suggestion to you is that finish your degree course first.

In fact, if you only do business with your own leads, you'll find it difficult to generate new business one day. So, you may consider to pick a company which provides company leads for its financial planner.

I always encourage ppl to continuosly studying. If you are interest in this field, go on studying the CFP and it definitely can be of help to you.

Consider carefully as the first job will affect your career development and your future as well.
