Contact resistance test? ducter

When doing the contact resistance test using Ducter, there is one positive and one negative value. what are these values represent?
eg 23/-24....

You may know the circuit of the "Ducter" meter is a resister bridge, the reading unit is in mill-ohm or micro-ohm(depends on which Ducter meter you use). Why Positive and Negative? it means the current measured in different directions (forward and reverse) have different values. Some automatic Ducter meter show only the average value of the forward and reverse current measured resistence value.
