For Krisflyer... With only 25000mileage, there are only a limited choice for you... As for now Singapore Airlines no longer operate Hong Kong-Taipei flight, but you can still contact Singapore Airlines HK office to redeem on Thai Airways flight on Hong Kong-Taipei flights which will cost you 20000miles...
However, with only 25000mileage, I would suggest you to redeem online which will give you a 15% discount... So you can choose routes that are under 29000miles... But redeeming ticket online will restrict you to Singapore Airlines/Silk Air flights only...
Otherwise, I would suggest you to book a cheap Hong Kong-Singapore ticket which is only around HKD1000 (exclude tax)... Then to use your Krisflyer mileages to redeem on flights from Singapore to place like Denpasar(Bali) which will cost you 15000miles (12750miles to redeem online) etc...
For any further information, you can check on the following website
https://www.singaporeair.com/saa/en_UK/Account/KFRedemptionCalcIn.jsp and do take 15% off the mileage if you decide to redeem online...
If you are planning o redeem on any other Star Alliance/Virgin Atlantic flights, you will require to redeem them through Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer hotline or through local ticket office... And they would need 24hours before they can confirm with you if you get a place on the selected flight... And this process could be quite annoying when you have to keep calling them...
So personally, I would suggest you to book yourself a cheap ticket to Singapore during low season... Then you could have a few days at Singapore and redeem a ticket from Singapore to somewhere around the region as well... In this case, you can then redeem online as long as they are Singapore Airlines/Silk Air operated flights... In which case, it will save you some mileage with the 15% discount and also not having to go through their redeem ticket system (when you book for Star Alliances partner flights)...
