May i help you? "help" is verb
e.g.1
Alice helps (verb) Judy to buy a Chinese book.
e.g., 2
Alice helped (verb) her friend in taping the television programme.
e.g., 3
They are very helpful (adj) because they always help (verb) their teacher, Mr. Chan, in carrying the heavy teaching materials.

應該兩個都是verb
如果是Noun, 會有 "The" 或 "a" 在之前. 當然, 要看情況而定
