1. 首先，為 Participle 下定義，它稱為分詞，是由「動詞」轉變成為的字
2. 現在分詞 (Present Participle) = 原形動詞 + ing e.g. do> doing
3. 過去分詞 (Past Participle) = 原形動詞 + ed, en 等等 e.g. do> done; work > worked

4. 「動詞」的四個主要部份「原形動詞」,「現在分詞」,「過去式」,「過去分詞」
eg. do, doing, did, done
5. 過去時態(Past Tense) = 用動詞的「過去式」Past Form e.g. do > did

6. 完成式 (Perfect Tense) 又分為
a) Present Perfect Tense = has/have + Past Participle e.g. has/have done
b) Past Perfect Tense = had + Past Participle e.g. had done
c) Future Perfect Tense = shall/will + have + Past Participle e.g. shall/will have done

7. 以過去時態(Simple Past Tense) 和現在完成式( Present Perfect Tense) 為例子
其實兩者提及的事情都是發生在過去的，
過去時態(Simple Past Tense)是泛指事情發生在以前時間的某一點。
而完成式 (Perfect Tense)是泛指事情發生在時間的一點與時間的另一點有關係。
現在完成式 (Present Perfect Tense) 指事情發生在過去和現在有關係。
eg. I finished my homework yesterday. 我昨天完成我的家課(通常有特定的過去的某一時間)
I have finished my homework.我已經完成我的家課。...May I go out to play? :) ( 焦點並不在該動作發生的時間，而是該動作的發生和現在的時間的點上的關係。)

The present participle is a participle that ends in -ing. It can be used with auxilliary verb " to be " to form the continuious tense.

Examples:

I am learning English.
We were walking through the woods.

It can also be used as an adjective

She is a working woman.

The past participle has the past form of the verb which would go with the verb have and would usually end in -ed. (regular verb)

Examples:

I have brushed my teeth (regular)
I have learnt English (irregular)

It can also be used as an adjective:

He had a broken leg.
