why does the density of primary haloalkane decrease with the length of the alkyl group?

whene the length of teh alkyl group increase in the haloalkane, the packing of the haloalkane becomes less effective. They cannot be closely packed together due to the different size of tehe alkyl group and the halogen atoms. Since they are loosely packed together, the density decreases when the carbon number in the alkyl group increase.
