the above explanation is right, but you will need to plot a graph to answer the question as it is a function with x and y as variables.

steps:
the equation is y = 1/ root x, when x = 0.1, y = 3.1622
x = 0, y is undefined
x = 1, y = 1
x = 2, y = 0.7071

.
when x is very large, y is approaching to zero.

So plot it out, mind you that is a continuous curve.

negative means one over
1/2 means take square root
