If you apply via non-jupas, the HKALE and HKCEE results will not award you a significant advantage but the interview performance counts heavily.
So my suggestion is that, why don't you try your best in your first year examination, getting a good GPA, and try the inter-U transfer? Also, whether you can study as a year 2 student or not depends on the credit transfer status. In the worst scenario, you might repeat one year in HKU.
By the way, are you serious? It is said that the BBA programme of HKU is not as good as the ones of UST and CU.
