I think it is one sperm may join into the oviduct,the oviduct that have egg in there!!
And than, the sperm enter/join into the egg,This call Fertilised egg!!

Sperm swim to the oviduct, NOT "join into" the oviduct.
When the sperm FUSES with a MATURE egg, a zygote (fertilised egg) would form.
