用來作clay的底塗
曾經用過gesso, 用砂紙磨後會甩掉,,,所以不太好用
modeling paste 會不會好一些?
又, 它們同樣是arcylic 材質,又有甚麼分別呢?

thanks!!

Hi, let me explain to you what is the different between these products first:

Modeling Paste is a mixture of ground marble and resin. It dries as hard as cement so can be used where strength is required. It can be cut, carved and sanded. You can mix color into Modeling Paste or paint it when dry.

Gesso is a primer. Artists sometimes apply it to a surface before painting on it. In fact, gesso looks a lot like paint. Artists put it on canvas, wood, or other surfaces before creating a painting with oil paint or acrylics.

Gesso makes the surface a little stiffer. It prevents paint from soaking into the support (canvas, paper, wood, etc.), and it gives the surface a little more texture (called "tooth"), so the paint sticks better.

Acrylic paint is fast-drying paint containing pigment suspended in an acrylic polymer emulsion. Acrylic paints can be diluted with water, but become water-resistant when dry

Gesso, Modeling Paste and Acrylic Paint make from different elements, you can't say they are the same. Therefore, they will give you different effect on your art.

Most miniature artists will apply Gesso and Modeling Paste on balsa to make a marble texture such as fire place and wall.

Tell you something, my own experience I asked the similar question of local miniature "Teachers" ( they can't asked it). When you take any miniatures course, please make sure the teacher is well educated art background. Don't spend the money on the teacher doesn't know anything about OR what they are doing copy Japanese Miniature Books or copy cat from competitors.

Enjoy your clay day
