You're ignorant, and racist. It's okay to be proud of where you came from, but at the same time treat everyone equal.
yes, in my opinion you are, intolerance breeds hatred and violence.
violence is not the answer...yes
Er... Well, being proud of your culture and wanting to know about it is one thing, but ignoring and not learning about others is just being plain ignorant.
And if you see some random fight and you don't know either of the people fighting, you don't need to jump into some fight just because someone that's in that fight is Hispanic, and you want to help them solely based on that decision.
That's what I think.
Understood! But imagine how those groups feel about your culture. We need to be more tolererant of each other and not put each other's cutlures down.
no you're just a disgRACE
it sounds like u r but if u dont have any black or white friends or just dont talk to them then u r
no... I get tired of not blacks and exuse my language but wannabegangsta and n i double ga ers(anyone can be that) and blacks who think they know what crips are and respect their "African culture" that they probably know nothing about anyway. Here in virginia beach it not really black people but a lot of them think whit people owe them something...They weren't the 1st ******* slaves and I bet they didn't know that Africa is actually one of the only countries that still has slavery today, I'm not racist i hate everybody, especailly those who don't know what they're talking about.
I understand where you are coming from. The basic history taught in schools do not focus on all races. You may get a chapter about African americans being slaves and civil rights and a little about native americans but for the most part it leaves minorities out. I went through the same thing and now that I am in college, I took it upon myself to learn about my heritage as well as others I did not get to learn about in high school.
You have every right to want to learn about hispanic culture, but unfortunately you will have to study it on your own time because you won't learn it in school.
"i say dat im tired about learning about blacks and whites, and i only care about learning about my own cultural backround, hispanic"
Being ignorant of where the others came from doesn't necessarily make you racist, it just means your ignorant of their history. But if you pick fights with blacks just because, then yep, your a racist. Really you dont need our opinion on telling you if your racist. You should know yourself. Blacks have stolen from me more than whites, and I have a quarter hispanic little girl (I was told you were a fertile people). Call me a racist if you like cause I don't give a rats **** if others think Im racist. I judge by how you look (at me), respect, and talk to me. If you act like a jackass, then I think your a jackass- white, black, brown, yellow, tan, albino, whatever. Hope you can find out for yourself and make the changes you need for the future. Cause remember, when you go to the job interview- your boss could be of any color (prolly white! ok bad joke), and you may find that knowledge is power. Even knowledge you dont care to have. Im being a sap...

NO YOUR NOT. F*CK all you people that say your are. Blacks run around being proud about being blacks and so do whites and there not considered rasict for it. There is no reason why you cant learn about your culture. And honestly, who cares about most other cultures
Ya know what? Stay out of the fights. I feel you, but that's a stereotype you're helping to perpetuate...you're not the only one...gazillions of people the world over feel just as you do and have their brothers' or sisters' back. I completely understand that, and I don't think it makes you a racist, but...keep out of the fights. Another thing...we white people have been studying our own--white--"curriculum" for hundreds of years, so how interested might we be learning to that degree about other races, nationalities, etc.? Except where people study history, philosophy, archaeology, etc., etc. There are plenty of people who are into it. But I understand exactly what you're saying. I'm just as unsinterested as you. How many years have Hispanics, Hindus, Blacks, have had to sit in on "everything white"? TONS. I don't blame you. I don't know if this is racist, and I don't care. It all has valid points. I'm a white, Jewish, American female. That's 4 strikes for a lotta people, talk about racist. I revel in it--it's too funny. And, what does someone like me do in a male-dominated, country-hated, lesser sex created, culturally and ethnically hated world? I like everybody unless they give me a reason not to. Doesn't mean I'm a target for them or that I'm interested in their culture either. Live and let live and mind your own business. I think you are just the same as the majority of people on earth, never mind the people who are going to chide you on hers on answers because they think they're so superior and politically correct. Believe me...none of 'em are clean...and they know it.

Listen.. I am so sick of race being an issue in America. Why do people constantly separate themselves and classify themselves based on their race? America is supposed to be *key word supposed* the land of opportunity. But, unfortunatly, our land of opportunity is only reserved for specific people. I am tired of people asking if they are racist. If you make a negative judgement towards another person because of their race, then yes, you are. But if you want to get technical... everyone has been a racist at one time or another. I am guilty as charged. I know I am not at heart, I don't typically judge another by their race... hell, I date a black guy, not that that means anything. But there are many times that I am guilty of saying "I hate Mexicans." I don't hate Mexicans. I have plenty of Mexican and Hispanic friends, close friends. But, some people aggravate me and I automatically criticize the entire ethnicity. I know it is wrong, and I try to catch myself when I do it, because it just shows me to be ignorant. But, that is the common mistake of most. They are quick to jump to blame the entire race rather than the individual. So, we all need to look at ourselves.. and refer back to the parable: Don't Judge a Book by its cover!
No, I don't think so because you want to learn about your people as well. Your an American just like everyone else you would like to hear about your own history. And as far as you helping your own race before others no violence is not the answer but it should be who is your true friend and who can you trust.

NO, BUT YOU SHOULDN'T FIGHT SOMEONE BASED ON THEIR RACE

No, not racist...just selfish. Aunque su propia cultura se importe mucho, todavía se debe importar lo demás...I care about everyone, not just myself.
not racist, but definitely close minded.
Taking a personal interest in your lineage is certainly not racist - it makes you curious to learn your own heritage. Good for you.
Tell those that would call you a racist that you are not Gandhi and you have no obligation to draft up a multicultural peace accord as you are not a politician.
If you only care about one race, then I'd have to consider you racist to a degree. Quit worrying about color, and start worrying about the PERSON.
Yes,you need to see people as people. Also fighting is for the stupid.
yes.
hispanic pride is possible
but you're a few notches up from that.
and are racist
viewing all races alike, as you are not doing, is not racist.
Racism is thinking you're better than the other races, and demeaning them just for being different than you. You can take care of your own, but don't forget about your fellow man.
i totally agree with you brother,,,, Im mexican too and only whites can be racist
oye y que importa lo que dicen way
I'm Black and I don't think you're racist at all. You have the right to learn (and want to learn) about your own culture. But you shouldn't jump in a fight just because someone of your race is fighting; that's how people get killed.
Please don't be offended but it sounds like you're a little racist. You shouldn't take sides with people strictly based on their race. Open your eyes to the many human qualities that transcend race. Aren't there hispanic people that you don't particularly care for? Aren't there any black people that you really like? Look past the color of people and try to see what's inside. Beauty and friendship come in every color. Also, when someone doesn't want to learn about other races, that's a sign of ignorance. The more you learn about different people, the more you learn about yourself. Some of my most delightful and rewarding friendships have been with people of other races and cultures. I've learned so much from them. You can learn about other cultures and still be proud of your own.
"I should help my race before another" yep that's racist
Why not learn about blacks and whites? Do you want to be ignorant?
esta bien.
If I were hispanic, (which of course I certainly am not). I would be frustrated with shcool curriculum. But don't get it twisted. Public doesn't teach anything about black people except slavery. Its all about white people in the US.
I live in VA BEACH to, I heard that there is a Crip blood thing going on here, that just puzzles me. It certainly wasn't that way when I grew up.
Sorry, you're a racist. It's OK though. If that's the way you feel be honest; I rather be around a person who's honest about their opinions then those who hide their true self.
i get sick of hearing about black culture and im mixed ... and no you should help your friends before others fool.. i dont think your racist because if you lived over here you would not be racist .
No you ain't racist. You are just proud to be hispanic and wouldn't want it any other way. Now if you were racist you would be like, oh, i hate all white people, or i hate all black people.
damn i cant believe these responses i am french and i love learning about my heritage and history
