I would talk to the absentees first, to persuade them or to reason with them, so they might change their mind and play for the game. If they still refused, I would send the all the absentees a warning notice, for being absent for inappropriate reasons. Then I would quickly find some people to fill in the positions, if possible. Otherwise, I would inform the organisation that my team would withdraw from the game due to unexpected circumstances.

I will ask somebody who know how to play that ball game and refill the space. Or I will persuade the absented people to back to the team and fight for our team.
