what is broadband?

high speed internet

fast internet, connected through a modem that is usually external.

to my knowledge, it has many different speeds, 128kbs 256kbs, T1, T3, satellite, although satellite may not be broadband and under its own category.

Broadband means "using a fast or wide data path." In the context of Internet connectivity, it means an Internet connection capable of delivering at least hundreds of kilobits per second, and higher; and which is always connected. "Narrowband" is a connection, like a dial-up modem, which has a lower top speed and can only transmit or receive data when it is using the phone line.

broadband means digital telecommunication. In contrast, baseband is analog.

Broadband is a form of Internet thats way faster than dial-up but not much faster than high-speed or a T1 or T3 connection.
