水的最高溫度是多少度?

請留意 critical point 這一點. 對任何物質而言, 此點的意義在於物質能處於液態的最高極限溫度 (critical temperature). 一旦溫度超越此數目, 則無論如何此物質都一定會在氣態之下了.
而在水而言, 其 critial point 在 374°c (647k), 而所需的氣壓為 218 atm, 即 218 倍的大氣壓力. 換言之, 液態水的最高可能溫度為 374°c.
