於訂機票時有什麼程序及要注意的事項？

若是新加入的會員（透過國泰聯營信用咭免費申請），則無法以扣減里數升艙？ 若與配偶一同乘搭，配偶是否亦須為會員及會被扣減里數才可升艙？

可以。最主要睇你Status, Green, Silver ,Gold 定 Platinum. Green 係冇用嘅。最少要Silver 才會有好野。有兩種可能：
1. 用里數去換，要事前打電話。如果係唔夠里數，可以比錢搭夠。
2. 如果你係Silver 或 Gold 或以上，班機商務倉有空位而經濟倉Full ，Check-in時可能會免費、免里數Upgrade 。不過冇 Guarantee。要碰運氣。(試過多次．．．香港飛美國，非常正．．．）

前者多數不會免費或里數，未試過。後者有可能，試過數次免費/里數Upgrade 我老婆(我係Gold, 亦係免費)。

green card member如你的air ticket是y,b,h,k,m,l,v.class才可用分敉upgrade,訂ticket時跟職員講.本人是green card member,如ticket是y,b,h,k,有時都會免費upgrade去程,一次去tokyo,一次去seoul,機會率35%.例如旅行社的平價票是不能upgrade的.www.cathaypacific.com看佢網址細看便知

to be honest, are you looking for those free upgrades? If so, better save a breath as this is not a must.
you can redeem with your mileage (club miles). if you don't have enough miles, sorry, buy a J-class tix please. With enough club miles, you can upgrade yourself and your spouse. For details, refer to www.cathaypacific.com
