Well, that's the HK culture! People can think of any English word they like as names. You may think " Hex " is cool and 型, but honestly western people don't have such a word as name and either they would feel confused or just can't stop laughing. Please think of this: " Hello, my name is Super. " is as funny as " Hi, I'm Hex. ". Sorry for my frank speaking....
If you really like " Hex ", my suggestion is you may use " Rex " for similar spelling and pronunciation.

Hex means a curse (咒語) or magical spell... not very 吉利...

除非你唔介意人地叫你做 "咒語"
