用 are 是錯的。
用 is 才是正確。


Dollars 用作表示「多少元」時,雖是複數但要用單數動詞,如:

1. Five dollars is a lot of money. 五元是很多錢。

2. To the billionaire, a hundred thousand dollars is small change. 對那億萬富翁來說,十萬元不過九牛一毛。

3. The United Nations secretary-general, Kofi Annan, has said that a billion dollars is needed right now to help victims of the Indian Ocean tsunami. 聯合國秘書長安南說現在需要十億元去救助印度洋海嘯的災民。
