在美國 , 基本上只要你有被人服務都要給小費
速食店當然不用 因為它只是把你點的東西拿給你
没在你旁邊噓寒問暖 問你好不好吃有沒有問題之類的
不過如果你去加油站(像OREGON)州政府規定不可以自己加油
需要店員幫你加油
你不用給小費
給他錢後
你可以說 "I just need five dollars in change."
但這一招我只有在訂PIZZA送來時用
通常餐廳裡我跟朋友都是讓他找錢
走之前把小費留在桌子上

假說你想給兩元的小費 但他只會找6元給你 (一個壹圓一個五元)
那你可以說
"Please bring me all ones back."
OR
"I would like everything in one (dollar bills可省略)"
然後留給他就可以了

不過線在我都留在信用卡上
自己填價錢
自己加一加
在留在桌子上就好了
而且啊 如果你信用卡有回扣 那你有省了幾分幾毛喔

我連交學費都用它

通常他們都會乖乖的把錢拿回來
然後住你有愉快的一天
那你在他走後留下錢就可以了
不需要在他面前當面給他

但記住 小費是自願的
服務太差 一毛也不用給
服務很好 你也可以給很多
正常而言是你消費總額的 15%-20%
多少你自行調整

我朋友以前在中國餐廳打工
一對美國老夫婦進來點餐
我朋友基於尊敬老人的心態
就幫他們服務周到 特別尊重他們
結果收到20元的小費
他們連吃都沒吃到20塊ㄟ

我以前也給0.01 元
氣死那個服務生
誰叫他把手只放在我的湯裡
燙到還跟我抱怨 "好燙喔!"
我連喝都不敢喝那個湯了

我說真的很討厭小費文化
給多了自己不爽
給少了怕他下次幫我"加料"
不過既然來到美國或西方國家
只好入境隨俗摟

除非他幫你做很多服務像清潔窗戶之類的
