功率的計算方法P = IV
P = 功率
I = 電流
V = 電壓
因香港所用的電壓為 220V，所以13A插頭輸出的最高功率是
P = 13 x 220 = 2860w
不過以上是最大的功率，若使用的電器功率大於這數值時，電路便會發生危險，例如電線不能支持這功率，便會產生高溫引起火警，等等意外。
