There are three generic competitive strategies from Michael Porter, they are:
1. cost leadership
2. focusing
3. differentiation

One of the method to select a strategy is through:
a. analysis
b. choice
c. implementation

For vita case:
a1) analysis: cost leadership is useful in the final stage of competition. It is especially useful when there is complete competition in market. As the milk has no too much competitors, it is not a good idea to use cost leadership.

a2) analysis: focusing in pupils' market with contract for the supply to schools may make a market segment.

a3) analysis: differentiation of product on some unique products. Such as the red bean milk. This is a new market segment.

b) choice: to select the focusing and differentiation method all together.

c) implementation: the execution of the strategy plan, that is tactic. It needs marketing technique to promote the product. Marketing mix: (1) product, (2) price, (3) promotion, (4) place are concerned.
