paste data & field format into foxpro table

Could I just copy data from excel file to an empty foxpro table so that

a
the field format & the data could be paste efficiently &

b
the field format could be set just pasting data to table & hence the field format could be set correspondingly?

you cannot copy & paste data from excel to foxpro. you only can save the excel file as foxpro database file ( dbf ) type. or import excel data from foxpro import wizard. if u save excel data as dbf type, you cannot modify any field format and length, system would use the format & length in first row to set up the table structure. if you would to modify the import format & length, you need to use the import wizard in foxpro and modify them step by step. try to use the import wizard in foxpro.
in vfp6, menu bar File -> Import
open the Import dialog, click button "Import Wizard" and import excel data step by step.
