According to Kepler's first law, all planets move in elliptical orbits, with the Sun at one focus. Therefore, the orbit of the Earth is not a perfect circle. And according to Kepler's second law, the area swept out in a given time by the line joining any planet to the Sun is alway the same, that means when the planet is at the point on the orbit which is nearer to the Sun, it's tangential speed is faster than when it is at the point on the same orbit further to the Sun. so the Earth is moving with a variable tangential speed.

it stays the same. The earth rotate(or goes around)the sun 23.7 hours a day.and so ,there's day and night in every places. Also,it takes 364 days to go around all the sun and so we call this one year.and so,there's 364 days in a year.sometimes 365 because there's one more day in february 29 to let the earth to rotate the sun.

So there's no slwer or faster, the rate are always the same
