help 的用法

首先要說的是「I help promote this project to customers」一句絕對沒有錯。

help 的用法是 help + object + (to) infinitive ，如 I help you (to) do something。當中的「to」是可有可無的，請看《Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary》裏「help」的例句。

為何會有兩個 verb ？因為第二個 verb 是叫做「infinitive without to」，亦即是第一個 verb 後是直接接原形動詞。這樣的句法比較少見，但有些 verb 後面一定不可以加 to ，如：

The Chinese government doesn't let us vote for our own CE.
I saw him break the table.
My mom let me play video game only after I have finish my homework.

至於為何不是「go to a picnic」而是「go on」。「go on」是「去做某事」的意思。而「go to」則是「去某地」的意思。看看以下例句。

I went on a picnic yesterday.
I went to a park for a picnic yesterday.
I went on a business trip last month.
I went to London for a business trip last month.


至於 award 同 reward 的分別，其實字典就有說明，看了《Merriam-Webster》裏 award 作為動詞及 reward 作為名詞的解釋後，你就會明白。

award
: to give by judicial decree or after careful consideration

即是說 award 有賞識、表彰的含意，通常經常仔細評審而頒發，中文可以譯做「獎」。


reward
:something that is given in return for good or evil done or received or that is offered or given for some service or

就是說 reward 是因為你做了某事 (留意，好或壞都可以)後得到的東西，中文可以釋做「報酬」或「報應」。

舉個例，警察懸紅十萬元捉拿一名通輯犯，你提供了線索令該名通輯犯落網，那你得到的那十萬元就是你的 reward 。若後來警隊因此事向你頒「好市民獎」，那就是你的 award 。
