What are you waiting for 先啱.
(What"re you waiting for?)

What are you waiting for (is right)
(What"re you waiting for?) (American are lazy sometime...)

(2) is correct
(1). worng grammer. this sentance is missing a "verb".

(1) can never be correct because the present participle [waiting] cannot stand alone. if it's converted into [what you wait for], it can be correct in the following condition:

e.g. what you wait for is timing and luck.

(2) is correct even it stands alone as a question. it has a complete sense when it alone stands. you can also twist it a little bit and make it as a clausal subject:

e.g. [what you are waiting for] is timing and luck.
e.g. [what you are waiting for] is for the rain to stop

it can also exist as a supplement:

e.g. This is exactly the bus [you are waiting for].
e.g. He is not the man [you are waiting for].

You are waiting for (一啲嘢).
What are you waiting for?

1. what you waiting for - 這句的結構是 : 疑問代名詞 + 名詞(主詞) + 名詞
2. what are you waiting for - 這句的結構是 : 疑問代名詞 + 動詞 + 名詞(主詞) + 名詞
