few is for countable noun, eg. apples, books
little is for uncountable noun e.g. water, milk, money, rice
a few and a little = some
few and little = hardly any, nearly nil

for examples:
1.There are fewer apples than oranges.
2.There are few students in the class room

~pron.=很少數;幾乎沒有,一些,幾個

for example:
1.Only a few of them will come to the party.

~little~用於不可數的名詞前

~adj.=小的,幼小的,不多的

for example:
1.He is too little to drike wine.

~adv.=少

for example:
1.You rest too little.

~n.=短時間;短距離,沒有多少

for example:
1.We walk a little.

"a few" is used as for a countable noun, while "a little" is used for an uncountable noun. The former is used for describing small quantity and the latter for small amount.
