both languages are not needed to have succes in your field
but learning a language is always useful
and spanish is the third most spoken language in the world
french and spanish are similar because both are latin languages
but french is more hard to learn because of its accents and pronounciation
I have been learning french for 2 yrs... and in my opinion, i think french is a very nice language (diff. to learn but sounds very nice). spanish is def. more widely spoken than french.. and apparently it is easier to learn than french (my frds used to learn spanish). if u r planning to do architecture/interior design then i think u will hv to decide where u r going to work in the future, 1) the states: spanish 2) the EU: french 3) asia: either will be good enough....
but mind u learning a new language can be quite challenging (unless u r gifted in languages), otherwise, think twice before doing so, coz i have come across this before, and found that listening was very difficult.
I studied architecture in the US and if you are planning to become an architect or interior designer in the US, spanish will definitely help you in this country because other chinese, spanish is broadly spoken here.
European countries has a better sense of design in my opinion so if you are heading to Europe both languages are fine.
I learnt french before when I was still in secondary school and I feel it's too hard for me (too tricky) so I have given up... and for now I am getting interested in learning spanish because I have decided to stay in the states :)
um...perhaps french is more useful since France is more of an "artistic" place...but with spanish... it's useful not just in Spain but in America as well..
Personally I think Spanish is much easier to learn and much easier to get a good accent...whereas French can be rather tricky...
Well... I would personally go for Spanish coz i love this language...^^ hope this help~
