Study in Santa Monica College (10 marks)

Actually, how much do my parents need to pay each year over all( inculding tutition, rent, eating and other expenses)?? ( I am not in a rich family. I worried about studying in USA would increase their burden)

-> Tuition: USD200+ per semester credit hour. Since most students study for 30 units each year, your outcome on tuition fees will be USD6000+ per year.
-> Books and supplies: USD500-1000 per year.
-> Food and housing: USD1000 per month, USD12,000 per year.

-> Estimated total annual expenses: USD19,000.

SMC does require each international student to submit a financial statement showing proof of availability of USD15,000 or more for his/her tuition and living expenses for the first (freshman) year of college. On the other hand, the college does allow an international student to work part-time on campus as a student assistant.
