This ranking is established by surveying the HR of many top investment banks, MNCs, and accounting firms.
For accounting:
The accounting program at the UofWaterloo seems to be the best for CA (Chartered Accountant) path, as people believe that it has the privilege to exempt two levels in the CA public exam. However, it is only permitted WHEN you are able to maintain 70% in every single year in the undergraduate program AND 75% in a 8 months-Master program; otherwise, you are not exempted.
In fact, this exemption is also for the UofToronto and many top business schools with their master programs. The only difference is the co-op system at the UofW is launched in the undergraduate program; whereas, the co-op system starts in the master program at the UofT.
Note: CA system is not commonly used in HK or other countries except Canada. So if you are planning to return back to HK, I'd suggest either picking finance or choosing the CPA path in the United States or Australia.
