其實打波落「西」，係咪來自side spin 呢？
side spin:
(1) horizontal spinning motion given to a ball.
(2) spin given to the cue ball in snooker and billiards by hitting it on one side, not centrally.

我覺得ok wor，解得通wor。既然係音譯詞，o甘樣約定俗成用「西」字已經得，即如「巴士」、「的士」o甘樣。另外有d人用個「篩」字，我覺得有d問題，因為個「篩」字只有過濾、挑選ge意思。

無错，由于粤語沒有合適詞去形容side spin呢種落咗西嘅踢球法，而國語嘅左旋球右旋球用廣東話說出來太過論盡撬口所以跟原文side spin嘅西音而創出一粵語形容詞"西"，此西在妨间更有多用如：而家的小巴好快轉灣時會两邊西、佢係咁衝過來我被佢撞到西埋一邊。足見此形容踢球嘅專用詞亦漸溶入尋常口語里。
