I am planing study Community College in CA next fall as an international student. But there are bunches of CC in CA, I really dun know how to choose. I consider the transfering rate, the tuition fee, transportation ( I not going to buy a car), environment and the living cost. Which one is the best for me??

Santa Monica College
Pasadena city college
College of San Francisco
East Los Angeles College
Foothill College
De anza College
Chaffey Community College

I would say either Foothill or De Anza College is good for you. Although City College of San Francisco has pretty good connection with UC Berkeley, the environment is bad, you can hardly find an apartment that looks nice in San Francisco and the crime rate in San Francisco is really high(you don't wanna go out at night). The whole city is pretty dirty. Also, I think there's too many Chinese in San Francisco. If you wanna learn English, better not go to San Francisco. Foothill and De Anza College are both in the San Jose Area. San Jose and its surrounding cities are actually pretty nice and clean, relatively low crime rate, and a lot of nice apartments. As for transportation, you are able to get around by the light rail or buses. Hm... I think the tuition are about the same for international students at all the community college.

Santa Monica College (www.smc.edu). A lot of graduates from SMC move on to complete their bachelor's degree programs at USC, UCLA, CSULA, and other schools in the CSU or the UC system. A lot of Hong Kong students successfully transferred from SMC to UCLA after 2 years of study.
