Disharmony is the only sin against God. Now, if you keep doing that, well, you had better change your ways.

But, sins defined by Bubba preachers, are just that: sins against religious empires not sins against God. - I am sure you get the point.

"Yes Virginia" there really were Bubba Preachers in the Bible. The Catholic Church calls them saints. - "Now, isn't that special?"

Not if you're sorry
2007-01-02 7:37 pm
No, as long as you are truly sorry each time you ask for forgiveness, He will always forgive you. But if you are sorry, that means you don't want to do the sin anymore. And you can stop commiting the same sin. Ask Him to help you and believe in His power. And stay away from situations that tempt you to commit that sin in the first place.

Jesus’ warning referred to willful and deliberate “blasphemy against the spirit.” There is no acquittal for this type of sin. “No, not in this system of things nor in that to come,” he added. (Matthew 12:31, 32) Those guilty of such sin will not be resurrected.

Paul was evidently referring to this kind of sin when he wrote: “It is impossible as regards those who have once for all been enlightened, and who have tasted the heavenly free gift, and who have become partakers of holy spirit, and who have tasted the fine word of God and powers of the coming system of things, but who have fallen away, to revive them again to repentance.” (Hebrews 6:4-6) The apostle also said: “If we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left.”—Hebrews 10:26.

If were to do a sin again and again, despite knowing that it is a sin, then yes. But ofcourse, God may choose to be lenient. He may still punish you.
But if it was unknowingly done, then you have a chance...

Here's a question - Why sin again and again if know it's wrong?
2007-01-02 10:56 pm
God loves you inspite of your sins
2007-01-02 9:49 pm
When someone becomes a Christian and accepts Jesus into their life, He forgives all sin committed by that person in the past, present and future - He can do this because when Jesus died he paid the price for all sin of everyone in time. This means a person is forgiven, however, we still need to repent (turn around from the things we do wrong) and ask for forgiveness to "maintain the lines of communication" with God so to speak, and to maintain that relationship with Him. So no, God never runs out of love, and as we are sinful creatures He will always have forgiveness for us.

There is no limit to the love God has for you and everybody. This is pretty evident in Jesus dying for all of us and Gods continuing perserverence with humanity and everybody on the Earth.
God loves us, but he hates us to sin. He won't hate you for sinning, but it'll only screw you up if you don't make yourself good of the sin. Ask God for a hand, get to the bottom of the problem and get rid of it! Jesus said 'If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it of!' in order to keep the body holy.

2 Peter 3:9: "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

Isaiah 64:6: "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

The answer is no, God's love and forgiveness does not have a limit. The condemnation resulting from sin is not God's fault, it's the problem of the person sinning. But, at the same time, we should remember that God hates the sin and loves the sinner.

"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23.

Isaiah 64:6 tells us that we cannot count on our own righteousness. The only way we can become God's perfect servants are through allowing the Lord to purify us, by surrenduring our desires to Him. Obedience should not come out of fear, but out of love. Jesus tells us in John 14:15, "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Galatians 2:16-17 and 20 tell us: "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid... I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

You see, the only way that we can stop sinning is by the grace of God. If we die for ourselves every day and allow the Lord to live in us, then we will find that a new person is living, one who exudes the Spirit of Christ.

Ezekiel 36:25-26 is such a blessing to those who find it difficult to rise above their sins. "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."

God bless you, Jay O. I will pray that you find the truth in your walk with Jesus. :-)

Listen carefully, God's love according the bible is unconditional, the height, depth, width, of His Love is endless, it's His mercy and grace that RUN OUT - see it like an hour glass, you have no idea when the last particle of sand will fall - -example- 1Cor 10: 8 Paul write let us not commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell (D I E) in one day three and twenty thousand - Hello they too could not STOP >>> Did they see Ms. Grace and Mr. Mercy before the act standing at the door

Don't be afraid of getting punished for your "sins",I mean getting punished by god (meaning that you won't go to heaven). You should rather be afraid of The Law,if your "sin" is illegal or imoral. If it's not any of these you can do it. Rather concentrate on your current life, then woriing for the "afterlife", because you only live once, and youll have to use your life fully out instead of hoping for a distant something that isn't even prooved existent.

Almighty Allah's love and forgiveness is unlimited.

Keep on seeking his forgiveness, always.
If you cannot easily stop committing a sin, first of all, keep on trying to stop and at the same time keep on seeking his forgiveness.
After some time almighty He will give you a power to get rid of that sin.
The only dangerous thing in this is may be someone dies before asking the forgiveness.

There is no limit to God's love and forgiveness

All sins, even polytheism, are forgiven with sincere repentance. Allah says: “Say: ‘O my servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of Allah’s Mercy. Truly, Allah forgives all sins. Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.” [Sûrah al-Zumar: 53]

Allah the Almighty has said: 'O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, and hope in Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds in the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with an earthful of sins and were you then to face Me, without having associated anything with Me, I shall grant you an earthful of pardon.'"

http://fortyhadith.iiu.edu.my/hadith42.htm

"When Allah decreed the Creation He pledged Himself by writing in His book which is laid down with Him: My mercy prevails over my anger."

We can not give better advice than the Proof of Islam, Imam Ghazali (Allah be pleased with him) who said: "If you repent then break your repentance by returning to sin, then rush back to repentance. Say to yourself, 'Perhaps I will die before returning to sin this time.' Similarly, do this a third and fourth time. Just as you have made sin and returning to it a profession, make repentance and returning to it a profession. Do not be more incapable of repentance than you are of sin, nor lose hope, and do not let the Shaytan use this to prevent you from repenting. For indeed it is a sign of good. Did you not hear his [the Prophet's] (Allah bless and grant him peace) saying, 'The best of you are every one who is often tried and often penitent.' Which means they are often tried by sin and repent much and return to Allah (Transcendent and Exalted is He) with remorse and seeking forgiveness. Remember the saying of Allah (Most high): 'And he who does evil or wrongs himself, then seeks forgiveness from Allah, he will find Allah Very Forgiving, Merciful.'[4:110]" [1] And Allah knows best and He alone gives success (tawfiq).

What is sincere repentance?
Allah Most High says, "Turn towards Allah, O believers, every one of you, so that you may be successful." (24:31)

And He says, "Ask your Lord for forgiveness and then turn in repentance to Him," (11:3) and He says, "O you who believe! Turn in sincere repentance to Allah." (66:8)

The Prophet (Allah bless him & give him peace) said, “The one who repents from sin is like the one who never sinned.” [Ibn Maja (3240)] He also said, “Remorse is repentance.” [Ibn Maja (4242) and Ahmad (3387)]

Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, "Allah will turn towards anyone who turns in repentance before the sun rises from the place it set." [Muslim]

Imam Barkawi, the great Ottoman Hanafi faqih, grammarian, and sufi, defined repentance (tawba) in his Tariqa al-Muhammadiyya as,

“Going back from desire to sin, with the determination of not returning to it, in exaltation of Allah and out of fear of His punishment.” [al-Bariqa fi Sharh al-Tariqa, 3.139]

The Conditions for Repentance

The conditions for repentance are well known:

1. Leaving the sin;
2. Remorse over having committed the sin;
3. Resolve never to return to the sin;
4. (If it relates to the rights of another person, then to) Return the rights or property one wrongly took. [al-Bariqa fi Sharh al-Tariqa; Riyad al-Salihin]

If these conditions are truly met, then one can expect one's sins to be forgiven. However, one has to be very careful about how sincere one is in fulfilling one's conditions. It is recommended to seek forgiveness a lot, and to repent every time the sin comes to one's mind.

If one keeps repeating the sin, then one should find the root cause(s) of the sin and eliminate them. For example, if one falls into a certain sin because of the company one keeps, then it would be necessary to either stop keeping their company, or to change the nature of one's relationship with them.

So, what is true repentance?

Ibn Hajar mentioned that Qurtubi quoted 23 different definitions of true repentance (al-tawba al-nasuh) in his tafsir. Ibn Hajar mentioned the most important of these:

1. Umar’s words (Allah be pleased with him) that it is, “To sin and then never to return to it.”

2. To hate the sin, and the seek forgiveness for it every time it occurs to one, as Hasan al-Basri (Allah have mercy on him) said.

3. Qatada’s words (Allah have mercy on him), “To be genuine and truthful in one’s repentance,” which is what Imam Bukhari chose as the definition of true repentance in his chapter heading.

4. To have sincerity in one’s repentance.

5. To be concerned about one’s repentance not being accepted.

6. To be such that it does not need another repentance after it.

7. To be made out of fear and hope, and be accompanied by consistency in worship.

8. Like the seventh, but with the added condition that one desert those who assisted one in sin.

9. That one’s sin be between one’s eyes. [f: That is, one does not forget it.] [Ibn Hajar, Fath al-Bari]

BEST ANSWERED BY SEEING WHAT IS AFTER THE 1000 YEAR REIGN

Gog and Magog existed because Noah came throught the flood. Now 1000 years?

Satan and all had every opportunity to become something other than trouble to all.

Rev.20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Gog and Magog represents all, as all are given every chance.

Jay why yes according to the bible their is a limit...

For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they then commit apostasy, since they crucify the Son of God on their own account and hold him up to contempt... For if we sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries." (Heb 6:4-6;10:26-27 RSV).

"If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of them the proverbs are true: A dog returns to its vomit, and, A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud" (2 Pet 2:20-22 NIV)

Seems like Yeshua's/Jesus movement was one that was supposed to be a holistic change in life style and mindset.

So whoever is saying it has no limit, they don't know their own scriptures. Furthermore they get their doctrine from Martin Luther and this is like an insurance deal,

"Be a sinner, and let your sins be strong, but let your trust in Christ be stronger, and rejoice in Christ who is the victor over sin, death, and the world. We will commit sins while we are here, for this life is not a place where justice resides... No sin can separate us from Him, even if we were to kill or commit adultery thousands of times each day." ('Let Your Sins Be Strong, from 'The Wittenberg Project;' 'The Wartburg Segment', translated by Erika Flores, from Dr. Martin Luther's Saemmtliche Schriften, Letter No. 99, 1 Aug. 1521.)

There is no limit on his love, but he will punish you if you dont love him back because we can all learn from our mistakes.
But it depends on the sin when it comes to forgiveness. If you just don't fast during Lent, that's not so bad. But if you cant stop killing people, I think you've reached the limit.
2007-01-02 7:40 pm
God loves everybody but you need to be born again to rid your self of the sins,Jesus died for our sins and god gave us his only son to sacrifice for all the sinners and we all can be born again like JESUS,

Your sins will catch up to you. That's just a given whether you believe in God or not. And if you are a Christian, God will send His "Heaven's Hound" after you to get you back to where you should be. God has asked us to yield to Him and to give our utmost for His highest.
2007-01-02 7:39 pm
yes. that's when punishment comes. however, he wants you to stop and repent that's what the punishment should do.
2007-01-02 7:38 pm
God's love is infinite,as long as we do not make a promise to him he's faithful and just to forgive us.Having said that it important for one to control what they do
2007-01-02 7:38 pm
I don't think so. We all have sins that we struggle with for a long time. We can only defeat it by Christ's blood. Read Romans 7. He talks about these types of sin situations. God knows your heart , your intention. If you hate what you do, and you cry out to Him for the grace to defeat it, trust that in His time, He'll deliver you from it. I struggled in a particular sin for 8 years. God had a purpose for it lasting that long. I hated my life, but now I see that He was teaching me something during that time that I can use for good in my life now.
2007-01-02 7:38 pm
yes there are limits. forgiveness is given when you repent of your wrong and no longer commit the sin. you will not be forgiven for something that you can control but choose not to, by continuing to do the wrong
2007-01-02 7:38 pm
You actually ask two questions here. NO, there is no limit to God's love. However, forgiveness isn't automatic. Repentance is a vital part of the forgiveness that springs eternal life. Repent and turn away from your sins. Remember, nobody save Christ was perfect however, we are to repent. Only you and God knows if you've shown a genuine repentance.

NOPE!
2007-01-02 7:50 pm
Did You read all them boring answer's ?
2007-01-02 7:41 pm
Nope. No Limit but you should try to stop. That's why Jesus told the woman caught in adultery to go and sin no more. Learn from your mistakes.

Passerby is feeding you alot of out of context scripture and theological malarky.

"Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times: but, until seventy times seven" (Matthew 18:21-22)."

He wouldn't have said this if this wasn't the way God worked.
Besides if there was a limit to God's forgivness then we'd all be going to Hell for something.
2007-01-02 7:38 pm
ok, so, God's perfect, and he forgives and loves, and one of the great beaties about him is that he's unfair(in are faver, he forgives us even though we don't deserve, i mean, if someone through you up on a cross and nailed you to it, would you forgive them?), anyway, Jesus wants you in heaven, and he wouldn't let you fall so far into a situation that you couldn't stop doing that sin
2007-01-02 7:38 pm
if you keep committing the same sin then that shows a lack of repentance...maybe you should reexamine your relationship with God. Do you know God?
2007-01-02 7:38 pm
Now you have to tell us which sin it is that you can't stop committing....?
2007-01-02 7:37 pm
well if u commit a sin, u need to be sorry in your heart and promise God not to do it again. if you keep doing again and again, God knows you are not sorry.

no limits
