Ole comes from the Spanish verb OLER, which means TO SMELL (as in TO STINK).
I smell - Olo
You (inf, sin) smell - Oles
He/she/it/usted (for, sin) smells - Ole
We smell - Olemos
You (inf, plu) smell - Oleis
They/ustedes (for, plu) smell - Olen
Spanish, like many European languages, has stems for each of the six pronouns placed behind the verbs.
So to say OLE, it effectively means that HE/SHE/IT smells, or formally informing a person (second person - you) that he/she smells. Charming...isn't it?
By the way, the verb Oler comes from the noun OLOR, which means the SMELL itself.
