1/12 (3/2 (3y-1)-6) = y
3/2 (3y-1) -6 = 12y
9/2y-3/2-6 = 12y
9/2y - 15/2 =12y
-15/2 = 12y-9/2y
-7.5 = 7.5y
y = -1

1) Let $m be Alex's invest
(m-70000)/2 = 400000-m
m-70000=800000 -2m
3m = 870000
m = 290000

2) Let n be the chickens
2n + 4(700-n) = 1900
2n+ 2800-4n = 1900
-2n = -900
n = 450
