Saddam used chemical weapons on his own people, murdered thousands, and tortured countless innocent Iraqis. In my opinion, this trial has proven that democracy exists in Iraq since Saddam was prosecuted fairly and punished according to his own laws.

PS Ask yourself this....Was it fair to the babies, and young children, wives, mother's, grandma's, grandpa's, father's, aunts, uncles, cousins, that he gased in his own country? Was it FAIR to them?

i don't know about Saddam... he was an evil man.. however, it is not on my conscience that i had him killed for purely selfish reasons.. and that is what Bush did. Saddam went after daddy, so Bush went after him and he did not care how many lies he told the American people... he does not care how many American lives we lose.. and he really doesn't care that he has thrown this country into a mess... he did something for Daddy. So now what Bush... now what?

We are at war and war is not "fair", life is not "fair." Grow up!! What does "fair" mean and what exactly is "fair." The word "fair" does not even seem "fair". I can't think of anything that is fair. War is violent and people die in war. If you want to try and be "fair" and if Bush broke any laws he should be investigated, prosecuted, given a fair trail, convicted and punished. Just like the democratic Iraqi government did with Saddam. That might be fair.

A case in point would be the impeachment of Clinton and the non-impeachment of Bush.

Both occurred because the Democracts were, at the time, losers. Now that the Democrats are winners again, they could certainly impeach Bush if they wanted without too much trouble.

This is how the world works. Laws and rules are for the losers, the suckers. Saddam was a sucker as soon as he invaded Kuwait out of misunderstanding with the Bush 41 State Dept.

bush should be punished for war crimes. what happened to Saddam, we did not do. his fellow country people executed him. when Saddam was hung bush was in bed a sleep from what the news reports said at 2 am this morning. America kept it's nose out of that. the only part we had in it was bring Saddam to justice for the Iraqis.

all the accusations against Saddam are false. killing prisoners of war is a crime and Saddam was. the American nation killed more than 1 million and half civilian Iraqis, by embargo without mention the wars' victims.

I think that it is grossly unfair. Would we allow another country to come into America and dispose our leader, bring war to our country, and then execute that leader? America has committed crimes against its citizens since the beginnings of its Independence. Isn't it ironic that we stand in judgment against other countries right to rule as they choose? Why are Americans so hypocritical in their thinking and actions? Yes, I am American, but I do not always agree with its politics. Nothing has been served by this man's execution, and if there is justice, somehow, America will have to answer for this, even if it is only to a higher power.

I'm sure this is a touchy issue to many. I agree with you. Nobody should be allowed to kill. No man, no country, no government, nobody. I'm sure there's people who will argue I would think differently if he had killed one of my own. I don't know, maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't.

But think about it! Don't you think that besides killing being wrong, isn't Saddam getting off too easily? Wouldn't he be suffering more if he'd be in a prison for the rest of his life and would have to think about things? According to news papers he didn't show a sign of remorse, and why would he? He knew he got away...

Since we,.the USA, helped Saddam gain his power,yes I think its very hypocritical. I know too that a lot of horrific crimes were committed but I think life imprisonment would have been enough.
I'm a strong death penalty advocate but somehow it just doesn't feel right .I feel that GWB has committed crimes equal to Saddam and yet he still had the presidency.Shaking my head at my fellow Americans .
