You need to prepare these components:
LEDs (Important, a English word for about 15-35 LEDs; A Chinese word for about 20-200 LEDs)
Resistors (For reducing the electricity)
ICs or transistors (For LEDs animation like blinking, if you need)
Wires (2 for colored [Red and Blue, packaged by plastic], others for not packaged by plastic)
Circuit board (To solder the components on it, and get connected together)
Soldering tin (To solder the components)
Soldering iron (To make the solder tin melts, and solder the components)
For couse, battery clamp (To put battries in it to support the electircity to the LEDs)
Mostly for over 50 LEDs cannot use on batteries, you can put a battery which can store the electricity with AC/DC 220V.
First, you need to go to Apliu Street. Because you can get all the electronic components at there. If you use red LEDs, you need more resistors, because the red LEDs cannot use the big voltage, they will burn out. If you use white or blue LEDs, you need bigger voltage (Or less resistors), because these LEDs use at least 3V. If you are going to buy soldering iron, first check the shops which sell this price, the cheapest is the best (40W, the cheapest is $23). If you want animation, you need to know the ICs or transistors number first (Example: IC name NE555, transistor name S9023), also how they works.
Prices:
Normaly the 5mm LEDs the prices are about $0.5 to 10.
Resistors only about $0.5-2.
ICs, transistors about $2-7.
Soldering iron (40W, suggested) about $23-36.
Soldering tin for $6.
Big circuit board need bigger price, about $20.
Store electricity battery is hard to find.
Battery clamp for 4s $5, for 20s about $30.
I wish these imformation can help you to make.
