在五月時，Bloomsbury Publishing Plc. 的共同創辦人透露，哈利波特第7集預計會在2007年出版發行。最近路透社提的一篇文章亦有相同的預測：

Harry Potter fans will have to wait until next year for the latest instalment of the boy wizard's antics to come out in hardback. The paperback version of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" has gone to number one since its launch, the company said.

雖然這並非Bloomsbury Publishing Plc.官方的引述，但其可信性極高。
