If you're trying to poke fun at Chinese people, you should start by using good grammar yourself.

Then you're not listening carefully nor were you paying attention. That's not good. You also sound discriminating. A lot of foreigners have difficulties in pronouncing English and not just Chinese. I'm not a Chinese but I think you're a really bad person. Give people a chance. People do not respect you if you don't respect them.

Hue, wah hwe shwa eediarr Potonghwa, kshu shu de pooHow. Wah shu MagwaRyan. Wah po shu JoongwaRyan.

Can you understand that? If you can, then you're okay.
It says, "Yes, I speak a little Mandarin, but I don't speak very well. I am American. I am not Chinese."

What you want to say them after that is: Nee hwe shwa Yingwa ma?
Which means, "Do you speak English?" This is probably more important for you to learn. The first part was me answering your question.

Before anybody gives me any crap about this, it IS Mandarin, and if you DON'T speak Mandarin shut your pie-hole about it.

you want to hearken to more desirable chinese accents. As you hear, you receives used to it. Even listening to chinese would help you construct a filter out. I used to loaf round with ESL youthful ones who'd talk different languages and that i does not comprehend a difficulty, yet I later got here upon that i might want to take care of maximum unfamiliar accents a lot more desirable.
2006-12-29 4:23 pm
Well then why don't you try harder???? LOL!
I'm Chinese, when I speak to strangers on the phone they have no idea that I'm Chinese until they meet me (they often get a shock and then can't speak English themselves!) because I do not have an accent.
2006-12-25 5:19 pm
i think i can understand them better when they speak chinese
2006-12-25 5:16 pm
It depends, if the person just has a very heavy accent then it can be hard to understand, but that's with anyone who speaks another language or even a person from a southern state can be a bit difficult to understand if the accent is heavy. One thing I noticed is that after awhile a being around a person with a heavy accent, you start to get used to their speach and become easier to understand when speaking.
2006-12-25 5:14 pm
