Every time you're in a store, do you feel self-conscious in regard to the ceiling security cameras?

Since, I am in the Security business. Our main goal is to let you know you are being watched and everything is being recorded.. This helps to stop peoples behavior...
The only issue there are some system which the cameras are not even working... They are there for looks and I think that is what happens sometimes.. We think are they watching me or recording me../??

Sure, but the goal is to prevent someone from doing something dumb..

A good example is 7-evelen store which when you pay your gas, you see your on the t.v. monitor which you then say to yourself wow... Well, if you were someone bad they would say, I wont' do anything because they are recording me...

GREAT QUESTION! Yeah, sometimes I wanna look up at them and pick my nose, but I've never done it. I especially worry about it when I'm walking around trying to make a decision on something. They probably think I'm "looking out" for folks and trying to steal stuff. It doesn't help when the PA announces, "Security, scan section 28, scan section 28, please." I'm like d*mn they must be looking at me.

Definitely. Michel Foucault described this phenomenon as "forcing the observed to police themselves." That is, if we're constantly worried about being watched, we'll monitor our own behavior at every second. It creates a strong feeling of paranoia. It's been in use for centuries.

One of the best examples is of a prison known as the "Panopticon." Basically, the middle of the prison was a guard tower with all the cells around it in a circle on multiple levels. The light would shine in from the outside, so the prisoners couldn't tell if the guard was looking at them or not. They altered their own behavior as if they were being watched...because for all they knew, they were.

do not difficulty. basically because she has keen to preserve her hair on her personal does not recommend she would not choose or choose your interest anymore. i recommend the curling iron won't be able to gently rub down her scalp or run conditioner with the help of her ringlets. the curling iron would not savour the seem on her face at the same time as she is delighted with the help of a bombastic updo. the superb note- don't be threatened with the help of a curling iron. a curling iron is a short fix at the same time as she basically desires to get the pastime performed. your 2 hands can do way extra at the same time with her hair than a curling iron ever ought to. that's no competition for a actual guy.

Even though I would never do anything wrong, I do feel self-conscious around those security cameras. The idea of being watched is just plain creepy. I used to work in a department store that had those cameras, and I hated the feeling that I was constantly being watched. Despite the innocence factor, it is still creepy!

In the Walmart in my hometown, I have heard from employees that the security system that comes on that states to rotate a camera is meaningless. It has nothing to do with the shoppers in the store. It is a system designed to make shoppers think exactly what we think... that we're being watched and we possibly are in the department in which the camera is being rotated to. Good psychology trick, right!?!

Even though I know that, sometimes I do feel self-conscious because there are employees whose main job is to walk around the store and find customers that are acting funny. They watch you. I know this because my friend and I were once playing the games on that list of 100 fun things to do at a Walmart one day, and we didn't end up buying anything. When we walked out the door a man who we thought was a shopper came up to us and asked up what we had stolen. We told him nothing and he took us to the back where we had to empty all our pockets. He apologized and said that he saw we were acting "funny" and that is why he thought we stole something.

In fact, Walmart should be more concerned about their employees, not about shoppers! Employees at this particular Walmart lift computers by having their friends checkout in their lanes. They scan a bunch of groceries, but don't scan the computers!
