Something wrong with my car!!!?

When my car is idling, the rev. would go up and down between 800 and 1100 continuously. At the same time, the engine would produce a noise like" ng ng ng ng". Anybody knows the problem??
更新1:

It is a Ford Contour V6

Depending on the year of Contour, there was a TSB (technical service bulletin) for an updated air inlet tube, with a "muffler" attached to cancel out a "hooting" noise during idling. But what you are describing sounds like a vacuum leak, which could be upper-to-lower intake gaskets, or an IAC valve, or cracked PCV hose. None of the above mentioned problems are difficult repairs. Hope this helps.

It sounds like you have a vacuum hose disconnected .

Like Mikey and frank f have reported. You did no longer get the whole tale. there's no way the police or all people however the owner of the motor vehicle is going to ought to pay for damages and prefer reported this is why. If spikes are used on a motor vehicle, it grew to become into maximum possibly in a pursuit. this means that the driving force is breaking the regulation for no longer pulling over. (despite if it grew to become into the incorrect motor vehicle) At this ingredient the driving force is going to be arrested and is committing a criminal offense. The police use spike strips to renounce the motor vehicle, and driving force is arrested. Any harm to the motor vehicle it quite is brought about is the accountability of the driving force or proprietor at this ingredient.

Do not use carb cleaner to clean a throttle body, use throttle body cleaner only. Throttle body's have a factory installed coating(most of them) that will be washed off be with the more caustic carb cleaner, this will/may cause the throttle butterfly(s) to stick most likely causing a rather high idle condition necessitating the purchase of a rather expensive throttle body.

try cleaning out the throttle body with carb.cleaner.sounds like it has trouble breathing, also check the air filter.

You didn't include the type of car but generally speaking what you're describing sounds like the computer is getting a faulty signal from one of the sensors (O2, MAP, MAF, EGR...). Prior to paying someone to scan it, if you haven't done a tune-up recently try that first including plug wires, cap and rotor as well as all of the filters and PCV valve. This could solve your problem but even if you have a bad sensor having something like a bad plug wire can cause more codes and needless replacement of sensors which may be reading correctly that your car is not firing properly. Merry Christmas.

i own a shop, and first you need to take it by auto zone and have them scan it to see if It has any trouble codes in it,,this will help narrow it down a lot ,,right now there's about 25 things that can actually cause it to do this,,have it scanned and see what code if any comes up on it,,good luck, hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

Try the air intake valve sensor, they get dirty quickly. And if its a ford they are well known for their sensors to go bad... You would have to replace this part because there isnt a way that you can "clean" it without either damaging the part nor actually cleaning it to make it work. Hopefully this works!

If FORD it may have a bad IAC valve (Idle Air Control) valve
2006-12-22 4:44 am
there are a lot of things that could cause that problem see if your car will produce a code to find out what the problem could be .

The revolution jumps are probably because of misfiring. Might want to get the engine checked out.
